Luke


This is Luke. He's five years old now but sure doesn't act it. Luke was adopted to keep him from going to the pound. He was very hyperactive so he wasn't good with little children. He's still on the hyperactive side but he's calmed down a lot. Luke is very strange when it comes to people. Some he likes right away; others he dislikes right away; and some he likes right away but then decides later on that he made a mistake. One example of the latter is Ken, the agent who sold us our house. Luke and Ken got along fine until the day Ken stopped by and upon entering the front door, removed his shoes. For some reason Luke just didn't like that. To this day they don't get along very well but Luke is learning to tolerate Ken's presence!
Luke was about six months old when he learned this trick! He does this whenever you talk baby-talk to him or when you tell him to do something he doesn't want to.
I get up early in the morning on the weekends and start cooking. Luke is always by my side wanting to help out. Here I'm making meatballs and Luke is making sure that none accidentally fall off onto the floor.
Luke just can't take it anymore. The smell of the meatballs has driven him to the point of begging.
One thing every good Italian knows, after a big meal of meatballs . . . it's nap time!
